Denmark:

Ronne (Bornholm) is a small Danish island; so small it only took two hours to drive around the entire island.

The drive above (through the woods) took us past castle ruins - built around 1090!

There is a quaint seaside village on one side of the island. Many of these homes are B&B or vacation rentals

Pretty village - most food has to be brought in - very little natural (anything) grown on the island. Locals have to get used to "less" than what would be available on the mainland.

                   The grocery store is the size of this bus

                Windmills are scattered throughout the island

         Typical round churches were built by the Knights Templar

                    It was a wheee bit windy and chilly

        Plenty evidence on this island indicating early Christians

The pews are circular; hugging the walls. Some parishioners will not be able to see the religious leader

                        Old artwork on the wall still exists

                            Cute organ nestled in a corner 

             Arlene stands in front of an old, horse-drawn hearse

 The men's restroom had a trough rather than a urinal. There was a step leading up to it. The room was dark. Jerry didn't see a step; tripped and almost fell into the trough.

This might be some type of shortwave antenna; a good way to communicate with the world.

    Old buildings have different purposes - pubs, small retail, etc.

Many parts of Europe are moving rapidly toward wind (farms) energy. The towers can be installed on land or in the ocean This facility is building the towers and blades. 

      This ship is taking these wind towers for offshore installation.

  The glass covering in front of us opens and closes over a swimming pool. The ship has a deck which is great for walking. We tried. It was too cold! 

                          So, we decided to have some tea.

Germany:

                  When in Germany, got to have sausages...

                            ...and, of course, pretzels!

            There is a beautiful boardwalk where we docked

  Ferries go back and forth bring locals and visitors to a quaint area and historical towns.

Playground for children and comfortable eating area

Karl's might be the same group that will be building an amusement park in the Oxnard Marina area near us.
