                                                                             Tel Aviv # 5, cont.

American-German Colony area: Christians migrated in mid-1800's to Israel

Entire house was taken apart and put back together along with an actual cellar
Family lasted six months - returned home - not what they expected

Drisco Hotel renovated - now 5-Star property

Florentin area: Known for its graffiti.
Artist used a "Cherry-picker" machine during Rosh Hashanah  to get away
with his project. It was against the law what he did.

We were sitting in the park with Aaron - discussing different aspects of Israel when the air raid sirens went off. They stopped then continued. Aaron (ex-soldier, now in reserves) was VERY concerned. He took us to a nearby apartment that has a bomb shelter. It was then he heard that the government was practicing an alert. Aaron "didn't get the memo!" We were a bit nervous.

Some of the work is quite elaborate

Some of the of the artists are well known

A lot of work went into this creation

Time for a morning break: homemade warm hummus with pita, pickles, onions,
