Europe April/May #17
Perugia, Italy
The Zurich airport is modern, clean and has a variety of amenities such as chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate
When in Rome or in this case, Florence
Getting the keys for a rental car in Europe takes forever; usually 30-45 minutes. All sorts of forms have to be filled out even though the computer has all of the pertinent information. We had a problem! Somehow, the internet process at home booked the car for Florence, South Carolina - a common problem for USA auto renters visiting this area. There were few cars left. The agent found one. However, getting a car at the last minute ended up with an exorbitant price. UGH!
Our daughter, Heather, wanted to get the most possible out of this trip. She scheduled our day by the minute! Each stop was timed: 15 minutes here, 10 minutes there, stop to look, then keep on going...
This will be our home for the next week
Our Perugia for the week was at a historic villa. The home has two parts: the tower was built in the 13th century. The home is relatively new - built 150 years ago.
This place is amazing
Many acres - beautiful grounds
Stepping back in time
The home even has a pool and plenty of outdoor games to keep us busy; that's if we had extra time after a full day of touring.
Lots of outdoor space to eat and relax - great kitchen
Livingroom and pool room
The tower is stocked with liqueur and wine
Cheese comes in large chunks
We'll skip the jugs of wine and drink the better stuff
Our first Perugia dinner together outside on the patio
